PUBG Corporation released today that there will be some changes to the first announced format. Teams from all regions were initially supposed to fly out to South Korea. Once they landed they were required to stay in quarantine for 2 weeks before being allowed to leave their hotel room. Which still is true for everyone going to South Korea.
Reasoning behind the schedule changes is of course the pandemic (covid-19) situation. This means teams from China, Japan and Chinese Taipei will be playing from their respective countries. Everyone from these countries will still play in the same venues as their countrymen to prevent potential cheating. Rest of the participants will play from South Korea. PUBG Corporation made the assessment that it would be the safer option and they still would get a fair competitive level.
The tournament starts on the 5th of February.
